Petts Wood – Residential improvements, architecture
Project Overview:
- Extension of Mock Tudor-style houses (three neighboring properties).
- Designs included loft extensions, conversions, rear and side extensions, basement excavation, and garden buildings.
- Initial designs executed for one property; subsequently appointed to design neighbouring houses.
- Design approach prioritised respecting the area's character and considering community impact.
The comprehensive design packages included loft extensions, conversions, rear and side extensions, excavation of basements, and garden buildings. The initial designs were provided and executed for one property, and following its completion, we were appointed to design the neighbouring houses. The design approach prioritised respecting the character of the area and being aware of the community impact.
Challenges:
Several challenges were encountered throughout the project. Firstly, to gain approval, plans had to be separated into different parts for clarity. The project required the rebuilding of relevant packages of work to complete the design. Notably, objections from neighbours necessitated dynamic responses to quickly and efficiently resolve issues while still meeting the client's wishes. Additionally, dealing with a slow-to-respond local authority introduced delays that needed careful management.
The Sherborne Road project exemplifies our commitment to dynamic problem-solving, community awareness, and efficient project management even in the face of regulatory and neighbour challenges
